Nonlinear characteristics of a battery energy storage system (BESS) may cause errors in the stored between operation plan and actual operation. These hinder reliability power especially environments such as microgrids with limited generation resources high uncertainty. This study proposes method to alleviate occurrence charging/discharging scheduling process BESS by piecewise linearizing its nonlinear characteristics. Specifically, that changes nonlinearly according size was modeled using special ordered set type 2 (SOS2) method. The proposed model typical BESS-operation models constant conditioning (PCS) input/output efficiency were applied unit commitment (UC) problem microgrid environment, results compared results. operated similarly model, reducing error energy.
